SEO Audit Curaçao Car Rentals Web Redesign

Safe & Save Rentals: A Full Site Audit, and a Prototype of Where It Could Go

Safe & Save Rentals has a genuine island-life brand and a fleet worth booking. What it doesn't have, yet, is a site built to be found. Here's the full audit, the keyword opportunity, and a working prototype of the upgrade, built to interact with, not just look at.

// The starting point

What safeandsaverentals.com is doing today

Safe & Save Rentals is a Elementor site for a Curaçao car rental business, sedans, hatchbacks, and an SUV, aimed at vacationers, interns, and long-term renters. The tone is warm and local ("the beach is closer than it appears"), the fleet pricing is upfront, and the no-credit-card, unlimited-mileage, free-delivery angle is a genuinely strong trust pitch for a tourist island. That part is working.

The problem is structural, not creative. The entire business lives on one URL. There's a homepage, a fleet category page, and a handful of utility pages (About, Contact, General Conditions, Reviews), but almost nothing built to absorb search demand outside of the brand name itself. For a market the size of Curaçao's car rental industry, that's a lot of free traffic left on the table.

The core diagnosis: this is a brochure, not a search engine. It tells a visitor who already found you that you're trustworthy. It does almost nothing to help a visitor who hasn't found you yet, actually find you.

// The findings

Technical & on-page audit

Pulling the live source and metadata turns up a consistent pattern: the foundations are mostly fine, but almost every layer that search engines and social platforms read from is either generic, mismatched, or missing entirely.

AreaFindingSeverity
Locale mismatchThe page declares og:locale as nl_NL (Dutch/Netherlands) while every word of content is English, aimed at English-speaking tourists and interns. This confuses social previews and locale-based search signals.High
Generic title tag"Affordable Car Rentals Curacao" is reused as the title across what should be distinct fleet, service, and location pages, no unique targeting per page.High
Missing structured dataNo visible LocalBusiness, Product/Vehicle, Review, or FAQPage schema. Google has no machine-readable way to know this is a car rental business, its hours, its fleet, or its star rating.High
Image alt textFleet and hero images carry empty or missing alt attributes, a lost opportunity for image search ("Hyundai Accent rental Curaçao") and an accessibility gap.Medium
Autoplay video weightMultiple full-width .mp4 hero videos load on the homepage with no apparent lazy-load gating. On mobile data in Curaçao, this is a real bounce-rate risk before the page even finishes painting.Medium
Thin page countOnly ~10 indexable URLs site-wide. No blog, no location pages, no "vs" or "guide" content. Almost zero long-tail surface area for search.High
Internal linkingFleet pages link back to the homepage and each other, but nothing links out to supporting content (airport pickup, driving rules, island routes), so there's no topical depth for Google to crawl into.Medium
No booking funnel tracking signal"Book Now" buttons route to category pages rather than a dedicated, trackable reservation flow, making it hard to measure which vehicle class or page actually converts.Low
~10Indexable URLs

nl_NLWrong declared locale

// The opportunity

Where the search demand actually is

Curaçao's car rental search demand splits cleanly into three intents: tourists booking before a trip, interns and relocators needing a long-term, no-credit-card option, and comparison shoppers checking price by vehicle class. Right now, the homepage tries to speak to all three at once and ranks meaningfully for none of them beyond the brand name.

None of these are high-competition head terms outside the broad "car rental Curaçao" phrase. The low-difficulty, high-intent long tail is sitting there mostly untouched, which is exactly the kind of opportunity a small operator can win quickly with the right page structure and a handful of well-written posts.

// The plan

The fix, in order of impact

// From brochure to search-ready booking engine

01

Fix the metadata layer

Correct the locale to en_US/en_CW, write unique titles and descriptions per page, and add Organization + LocalBusiness schema with hours, address, and phone.

02

Add vehicle & review schema

Mark up each fleet page as a Product/Vehicle with price, and pull the existing Reviews page into AggregateRating schema so star ratings can show directly in search results.

03

Build the long-tail pages

Launch dedicated pages for no-credit-card rentals, intern/long-term stays, and airport pickup, each targeting one keyword cluster from the table above.

04

Lighten the homepage

Replace always-autoplay hero video with a lazy-loaded, poster-image-first version, compress fleet photography, and split the long single-scroll page into clearer, faster-loading sections.

05

Give every car a trackable CTA

Route each "Book Now" into a real reservation step (dates, WhatsApp deep-link, or form) instead of a category link, so booking intent by vehicle class becomes measurable.

A working prototype of the upgrade

Rather than just describe the redesign, here's a standalone, interactive build of what Safe & Save Rentals could look like with the audit fixes applied: tighter information hierarchy, a real fleet showcase, and a layout built to support the new landing pages above. It's fully clickable, this is the actual prototype, not a screenshot.

// The takeaway

The brand already earns trust. The site just isn't built to be found yet. Fix the metadata, build the long-tail pages, and give the prototype's clarity to the live build, and the same fleet starts converting search traffic it's currently invisible to.

None of this requires a new business model, just the structural and technical layer that lets Google understand what's already true: three well-priced, well-maintained cars, ready for tourists, interns, and long-term renters across Curaçao.

// Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • What's the single highest-impact fix here?

    Adding LocalBusiness and Vehicle schema, paired with correcting the locale mismatch. These are quick technical changes that directly affect how Google understands and displays the business, before any new content is even written.

  • Why build new pages instead of just optimizing the homepage?

    Search engines rank pages, not businesses. A single homepage can only realistically target one or two phrases well. Splitting "no credit card," "long-term/intern," and "airport pickup" into their own pages lets each one rank for its own cluster of long-tail terms.

  • Is the autoplay video really hurting SEO?

    Indirectly, yes. Page speed and Core Web Vitals are a ranking factor, and unoptimized autoplay video is one of the most common causes of a slow mobile load, which is where most car rental searches happen.

  • How is the prototype different from the live site?

    It applies the same brand and fleet content inside a structure designed for the keyword targets above, clearer page hierarchy, a real fleet showcase, and a layout that's ready to host the new landing pages without a full rebuild.
